First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
I was 12 years old when I read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I was amazed by how brilliant it was. I was sucked in immediately and I've read it up to 33 times now. It was one of those books that changed my life.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Frodo Baggins, I always loved the hobbits. I feel that they are closest to my personality. They are child-like even when they are older and they seem so friendly.
I chose Frodo because he was the exception to the rule of hobbits or at least in my mind. He chose to be different in the sense that he wanted to be better educated, he did not have any parents other than his guardian Bilbo, and in a way I think he became the tainted hobbit lad that he was. What I admire is that he stood up for his kind and became the ringbearer because he saw no other way. Frodo is wise beyond his years and strong in ways that are unimaginable for a hobbit. I truly believe that he is probably number one on my list of best literary characters of all time.
