First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
I had read The Hobbit twice before getting to The Lord of the Rings. Honestly, I liked it a lot, but it never grabbed me like The Hobbit. I never when into the movie expecting much more than a good flick. It immediately jumped into my top films of all time. Right now, the trilogy is only beaten by Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.
However, the second time I read The Lord of the Rings was SOOOOO much more fulfilling. I still don't like it over The Hobbit, but it is number 2 on my favorites list.
