Boxed set gifted to me by my father, having read The Hobbit in my youth (thanks to a very gifted Primary school teacher), so cannot but think of these people every time I read these books.
My memory of first reading LOTR is that it took me a while, but I was completely engrossed. It moved me in a way words cannot describe.
