I love reading. My perfect day would be perched on my favourite chair with a nice cup of Yorkshire Gold Tea and a good book.
First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
Well Tolkien has always been in the family, as a little girl I remember my dad having all these Tolkien books in the bookcase all neatly and lovingly kept on display. On the same shelf were all of these little ornaments, one of which was Galadriel and was just lovely. But these books looked far too scarey and big to me so I never touched them. But, when I was about 15 I remember he passed on a worn out copy of The Hobbit to me, I read a few pages and sort of liked it but never got any further and having by this time seen the animated version of LOTR (I adored Sam and Gollum) I was more interested, but didn't stick with it.
It took me till last autumn to finally read the LOTR. I loved it, I sped through it, devouring page after page every night. I am now completely hooked. I only saw Peter Jackson's films last autumn too and was sad that I missed all the build up.........but now I know why Dad was so exited back in 2001 and Im so glad we can both share The Hobbit experience over the next couple of years.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Eowyn, Faramir, Boromir, Theoden, Gollum and Sam. OOOhhh Merry, Pippin and Gandalf. Hhmmm think I have too many favourites.
