First read Lord of the Rings my senior year in high school. Took me three months and I was completely absorbed by the book. I always feel sad when I reach the end, the Gray Havens, and the adventure is over.
Favorite Tolkien character:
Gollum/Smeagol is the character I most identify with. He was ensnared by the One Ring and the misery he goes through was brought about through the Ring. But I feel that there's something good in him that wants to go back to the way he was before the Ring came into his life. I'm sure that one of his biggest regrets is killing Deagol, and if he was up to it he'd help Frodo destroy the Ring.
