First Lord of the Rings reading experience:
I watched FotR with a friend a bit after my 12th birthday in 2002. That afternoon, I went out and bought the film and watched it twice more. Then, the day following, I went to the bookstore and bought all of the books. I think it took me about 3 weeks to get through the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and the Silmarillion. And the rest is history!
Favorite Tolkien character:
Must I pick? Manflesh orc? Sam? Aragorn? Tevildo the Lord of Cats? Let's just go with I can't pick a favorite because the wondrous part of Tolkien's writing is how he can create a seamless web of characters, places, and times in his writing.
