First Lord of the Rings reading experience: I was forced into The Hobbit in fifth grade, but honestly all I remembered about it was a barrel escape from somewhere, something about a dragon, but I only remembered the dragon because we also watched the movie as a follow-up. I didn’t read LOTR until after I watched Two Towers (which I actually saw before Fellowship thanks to an unfortunate and ignorant mix up). I had some trouble getting through the language, but nevertheless, I finished them all (and the appendices) before ROTK hit the theaters. I don’t know when I became fanatic. It just kinda happened.
Favorite Tolkien character: Hm… this one is tough for me. I tend to bounce between favorites, but I always come back to Aragorn. I loved watching his transformation from a ranger with presence to natural leader. In the beginning, I thought he’d never realistically be able to rule. It was incredible to watch as he became every inch a king long before he was crowned. The other characters I bounce to most are Boromir, Arwen, and Legolas.
Less Filling or Tastes Great: Tastes Great
Elves and Dragons or Cabbages and Potatoes: Elves and Dragons
