Interests: science fiction, fantasy, reading, writing, art, movies, costumes, sewing & knitting, astronomy, ancient history, and lost causes -- New and shiny things are always crossing my path. Some days I take a big swing at something and fall on my butt, other days they stick and become part of my life.
First Lord of the Rings reading experience: I started the books just before FOTR hit theaters. I had finished FOTR and started TTT just in time. After the first movie I rushed through the next two books.
Favorite Tolkien character: When I first read LOTR, my answer was Eowyn, because I was starved for strong female role models in the SF/F genre. The question has become more difficult to answer these days. Aragorn and Frodo are pretty cool. So's Galadriel, if you're looking for a strong woman. Maybe Bilbo, actually? I'm not sure I could give you a reason why, though.
