Scattered thoughts in the dark [In reply to] Can't Post

That's true. Its hard to say for sure what the second film will be about, or if PJ and GDT are even committed to the idea that it will be its own film, and not just a two part adaptation of The Hobbit, as I've repeatedly seen it referred to as the latter in the media here and there. I put that down to basic ignorance on the part of the media, but at the same time I really want some clarity here and I hope we might get this at the chat on Saturday. The second film could be entirely Hobbit/Shire related, or as some have hoped Gandalf centric, or an entirely new character altogether. I somehow doubt it will focus on Balin, but as a fan, I'd lap that one up happily too. It seems to me the option of all these that is most likely to appeal to a mass audience is Aragorn's story.

BTW technically, I don't think Variety's mentioning of Viggo being approached is very genuine either. It reads more like assumption in the article than based on fact. Personally I hope they are right. And I hope Liv will follow. I also hope she reads this thread some day and that it cheers her up to know that she won so many fans over after all the grief she went through in the earlier days. Poor thing. :-/

She hasn't aged a day [In reply to] Can't Post

and its true. It is with great respect to hear that Liv wants to return to middle-earth. She brought this elegance and grace to the role of Arwen and I can't see anyone else as but Liv as her.

I can see some hope in the F2 but not in the Hobbit for all we know and she too, Arwen doesn't make an appearance in the book.

Any word on Viggo?
