the last post in the old RR was hatster's Can't Post

I think this is the last post (if not, someone will be along shortly to correct me) and it was a nice sentimental one from hatster with an appropriate Tolkien quote.

Just a nod to the passing of the olden times.

"an seileachan"

Everybody's wondering what and where they all came from.
Everybody's worried 'bout where they're gonna go when the whole thing's done.
No one knows for certain, and so it's all the same to me:
I think I'll just let the mystery be.

actually, Altaira's was the last! [In reply to] Can't Post

But yes, that final line from Tolkien's unpublished epilogue just seemed to suit

I have lost the dwarves and I have lost the wizard, and I don't know where I am; and I don't want to know, if only I can get away.

Aw, sorry I missed posting in that thread. [In reply to] Can't Post

I just went and read it, and it was delightful. I collated replies and saved as html and printed. What a sweet farewell. I hope to see all the regulars here. And hatster, that was a wonderful quote. Thanks!

"For DORA BAGGINS in memory of a LONG correspondence, with love from Bilbo; on a large wastebasket. Dora was Drogo's sister, and the eldest surviving female relative of Bilbo and Frodo; she was ninety-nine, and had written reams of good advice for more than half a century."

It did - [In reply to] Can't Post

It was a great "ending", one that beckoned to a new "beginning"! Thank you for thinking of it!
