"Godzilla is totally accepting of all people and faiths. For it is written that liberal or conservative, Christian or Muslim or Jew, straight or gay, all people sound pretty much the identical as they are crushed beneath his mighty feet."

Heh, there used to be [In reply to] Can't Post

a running gag in Groo the Wanderer: in every issue someone would say of Groo, "[you're] slow of mind." A few pages (or perhaps an entire chapter) later, Groo would say, "what did she mean, 'slow of mind'?"

Groo, by Sergio Aragones -- the guy who used to be responsible for all the doodles in the margins of Mad Magazine -- was a spoof on Conan the Barbarian. It was one of the few comics I followed back in the 80s; which might explain my sense of humour when it comes to the fantasy genre.

Not so funny now, eh?

Laugh

Pass the cheese dip! [In reply to] Can't Post

I think the gag showed up at some point already in the current 12-part series Groo: Friends and Foes. On the other hand, I don't recall any new 'mendicant' jokes or 'cheese dip' references--yet!
