It is part of that 'unwritten story' ('unwritten' in the sense of 'unwritten rules'). There are things we begin to expect from his style, but since they are nowhere codified, it ends up as speculation. Intelligent and informed speculation, but pure speculation, no less.

I think I touch on this at the end of my main reply, but hopefully it is more clear here.
