Bomby that story reminds me of our true story with Dos. We had been standing outside in the cold here. Very foggy and cold. We got into the cinema lobby, waited and waited for the midnight show. So we sit down and the trailer start. It's now 12:10 or so...well one of the trailers was the DoS trailer and I'm thinking "Wait a minute something isn't right why would they be showing the DoS trailer when we are seeing the film shortly". Then the film starts. Boom. Skyfall. They had put the wrong film in. Fortunatelyl it was all Tolkien fans, packed theatre and so everyone yelled by were patient. It took them 35 minutes to get it squared up right and we did finally see DoS but it took a very long time and we were all exhausted by the time we got home. The shock though of all of us as soon as the James Bond music came on. It was epic.

we've had some of those at our local theater too... a friend went to see it in 3D and the film was fine right up until Bilbo walking over the hill back into the Shire.... fzzzzzzzzzt, black screen of death. Free passes. i had had issues with this theater with another 3D show (turns out if you pack a bunch of trailers at the beginning, the computer barfs when it thinks it's reached its time limit and shuts down).... ...so, free passes. So there we are tonight, with a 2D showing, and two free passes. Seems the theater got its 3D issues fixed, but does not have HFR, and I am one of those people who will eschew 3D, IMAX and nearly anything else for HFR... because when stuff moves, which is always, it isn't a Big Fat Blur. Love Bomby's random poetic style. Um, what waS that again..... Definitely one of the Maiar...........

I can just imagine the collective gasps of horror when the Bond music started! ROFL!!! How in Middle-earth could a theatre muck something like that up so badly?
