oops- spotted a mistake in my previous post too late to edit it! [In reply to] Can't Post

The Black Riders call upon Saruman when Gandalf has just escaped. So it's not (as my previous post wrongly said) that it's a personal visit from the riders that causes Saruman to summon Gandalf. Saruman send for Gandalf after he has learned about the riders in some other way.
