I chose between Rigoletto and Sergel. [In reply to] Can't Post

Went to Sergel with AUJ, and Rigoletto at DOS. My experience at Sergel was better IMO, it definately had the "feel" of being the "main" midnight screening, it felt like an event there. People dressed up, Tolkien-choir singing songs outside and so forth. I remember when our AUJ screening was delayed by 30 minutes when everyone was waiting and seated in the movie. Instead of getting angry at the delay, the opposite happened. Two guys dressed as Merry and Pippin walked onto the stage and sang The Green Dragon song. That was hilarious and a fond memory from that night, which is why I went with Sergel this time.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

Was making the same choice myself. [In reply to] Can't Post

I saw AUJ half a week after the premiere, and DOS at a fairly small, cramped theater where there was little to no atmosphere, despite it being the premiere. This time around, I really wanted to have that "main" midnight screening experience you describe, and after reading about your AUJ-experience, I am glad that I picked Sergel. Maybe I won't be alone in dressing up this time Laugh

A question for our European Family? [In reply to] Can't Post

Last time,Bomby was in Paris, you could NOT walk a City Block
without seeing a Lamp post Banner
announcing "Titanic"

Well, is there a "Blanket Saturation Campaign"
like that... going on for THIS?

The Thing, bomby knows is, that Buying High Profile ads
for NFL Football games..is a Fast way to generate business
here in.. The States...Especially Yesterday on Thankgiving
which had...a Full Day of 3 Pro Footballs in a row..
(Which translated into over 10&1/2 Hours for JUs' the 3 games!)

Yes, midnight screenings are awesome [In reply to] Can't Post

Because everyone there just wants to watch the movie - no-one was dragged there against their will. People don't chat loudly or check their cellphones. I really don't have anything negative to say about these types of screenings.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead.

Yes! [In reply to] Can't Post

Absolutely more hype this year! I guess everyone wants to see the ending and this tragic story about Thranduil and his men.

I only wished i have already found a girl who loves Tolkien as much as me. It would had been fun going with her on this movie. Smile
