Whats it worth? Signed Hobbit Book Mckellen, Freeman and all the dwarf's Can't Post

I have a signed Hobbit book, Its 100% genuine and It was donated to a charity auction by one of the actors. I have a letter from the charity and a letter from the actor who donated it. My question is what's its worth? All the actors have signed real name plus character name

To quote Publius Sirius... [In reply to] Can't Post

'Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it.'

There several ways to measure value, Material, Monetary, and Emotional. Material valuation usually is based on the raw components, and Monetary is based on what the item will fetch compared to similar items. When considering buying an item using these kinds of valuations, the buyer most frequently asks, 'What would I give to own it?' However, when it comes to such a niche interest item, most people will not consider Material or Monetary valuation as much as Emotional value. Value is then based on more abstract factors, and if the drive to own is strong enough, the question they ask might be, ' What wouldn't I give to own it?'

It all really depends on what you are planning to do with the item. In the general lack of similar items, there will be few comparison able to be drawn for price value. If you plan to keep it, then value will likely be set by yourself. What would induce you to sell it? If you plan to sell it, then it is determined by what the buyer would pay. Ask one hundred people what they think, and you will (probably) get one hundred different answers.

If you'd ask me, I'd say priceless!!
