This is a really nice interview in which Richard Taylor talks about his relationship with the fans and his journey working in Middle-earth. Despite the title, there's not much about The Battle of the Five Armies, but it's great nonetheless! Sir Richard Taylor talks The Battle of the Five Armies .
"When you think of the great Battle of Pelennor, do not forget the Battle of Dale. Think of what might have been. Dragon-fire and savage swords in Eriador! There might be no Queen in Gondor. We might now only hope to return from the victory here to ruin and ash. But that has been averted -- because I met Thorin Oakenshield one evening on the edge of spring not far from Bree. A chance-meeting, as we say in Middle-earth." - Gandalf

Especially amazing is the fact that Richard and his dad are hosting a fan that they had never met before! You can tell the interviewer was very surprised. It's just great that we have such personable, down-to-earth people making these films first and foremost for us fans. I cringe every time I see someone lump PJ and co. in with WB in terms of motivation. As I see it, they are leagues apart in that regard. .
