Please don't generalize... [In reply to] Can't Post

There are also other people, and I am one of them, who happen to like very much this whole Dwarves vs Smaug sequence, and far from finding it "puerile, outlandish or inappropriate", find it very inventive and showing the Dwarves the way they were when in their own environment and with Smaug unable to fly when trying to catch them. So let's say neither your opinion nor mine represents an absolute truth and leave it at that... Wink Smile

I am with you [In reply to] Can't Post

mae govannen. And while i would love to see that sequence a bit trimmed down,it is one of the most inventive action sequences i have ever seen.Dwarves taking advantage of their own environment against an unassailable foe who is truly challenged once the forgets start to functionSmile

And even the water drenching too [In reply to] Can't Post

took Smaug aback and was perhaps more able to quench his fire, at least for a while... Well, the more I think of them, the more I find their ideas were actually all brilliant!!! Cool And splendid to watch being enacted! with so much collective efficiency... including Smaug's own involuntary participation in the re-kindling of those forges...A great inspiration from Thorin, I would say!!! I always feel so enthusiastic I want to cheer them on and clap my hands noisily so as to show my fullest support! Laugh
