Wrap up warmly and sit on the daybed with a cup of hot tea and a good book. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't even want to get up & get on the computer. I might do a crossword puzzle. Maybe watch a movie. But mostly I like to set myself up so I can drift in and out of sleep.

To be sane we must recognize our beliefs as fictions.

I seek quiet, calm, warmth [In reply to] Can't Post

I've had some pretty intense experiences with illness... from being accidentally poisoned that nearly destroyed my liver (4 month recovery) and violent allergic reaction to periwinkle (3-week recovery) to something as common as migraines, colds, or flu. Each time I find myself being as still and warm as possible. My couch is very old and is owned by my pets; but I keep it because it's the perfect arm-angle, cushioning and size to hold me. I can nod off or watch tv or read. Mostly, though, I just hang on and wait to feel better :)

wow [In reply to] Can't Post

that's awful! What was the poison?

That's pretty much how I do illness- sitting on my bed with two pillows behind my back, alternating between nodding off and being on the computer (no cable, and my tv is nowhere near big enough for TH and LOTR (can't see details) even if it's ok for other movies Wink

Rest/sleep [In reply to] Can't Post

Fortunately I don't get sick often, but when I do it's always something like a cold or the flu. And it makes me tired and lightheaded, which makes the things I usually enjoy doing (listening to music, watching films, playing video games, reading, etc.) much less enjoyable. So sleeping it off is really the only option.
