was last night (don't know why it's not on Halloween, but apparently it's tradition around here). It was probably my daughter's last trick-or-treat--she's 12--so it was kind of bittersweet in many ways. My son couldn't decide on what to be...until he decided he wanted to be a GameBoy! So I made him a costume out of a white pillowcase. It was an amateurish effort, and I think he's kind of embarrassed to wear it to the school Halloween parade today. But all the young dads were crazy about it last night and he got a monstrous bag of candy (which I'll now have to ration) out of it, so not a wasted effort, I suppose.
“Tollers,” Lewis said to Tolkien, “there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves.”

And a candy clean up for him sounds like you hit just the right note. Never heard of night before TnT (safer somehow? not sure) but whatever works! Our weather *just* held out, raining by about 9:15 pm but we had lots of happy kids come by. My son is 'too old' too at 15, and just hung out with friends and watched 'Psycho' for the first time. Bittersweet - yup, I getcha. Where does the time go???
