The Dwarves' New Year falls on November 6 this year in our calendar. This assumes that the Dwarves counted Winter as starting on or about November 10. Sadly, it will not be a Durin's Day. We can guess that the Dwarves counted the seasons in the same way as the Elves and Hobbits from Thorin's map; the moon-letters were written on a mid-summer's eve that corresponded to mid-summer's eve in Rivendell.
