I'm from WV, USA, where Black Bears are pretty common. These bears are really wonderful creatures. I suppose my patronus would take the shape of an animal closely connected to my childhood.
Although I didn't pick elephant as my patronus of choice

I did tell a friend recently that if I come back after I die, I wouldn't mind being an elephant. They are really profound, great creatures. I have no illusions that, for most elephants, life is difficult in today's world.

They are fierce! Especially in protection mode. We often see little bitty mockingbirds driving off much larger birds from their territories. A Dementor would be no match for a mockingbird patronus. Plus, the mockingbird is the state bird of Texas.
There is so much I could say right now....

but I won't.
I do know what you mean by that call though. We have a family of loons that come back to the area around our cottage every year to nest. I love listening to mom and dad talking in the early morning mist.
Patronuses can speak, but do so with the voice of their casters.
The sound they make is one of the reasons I am fond of geese, though, so I mentioned it. When I was a kid I visited a wildlife preserve where many thousands of geese are present during the Fall migration, and it left a deep impression.
