Music: Bilbo's Last Song new recording Can't Post

Hi all!
I wanted to let you know that I recorded two pieces of music in anticipation of The Battle of The Five Armies.
The first is a suite of Howard Shore's dwarven themes:

The second one is a recording of Bilbo's Last Song, which I based on Howard Shore's theme(s) for Bilbo:

As a little reminder, here are the lyrics:

Day is ended, dim my eyes,
but journey long before me lies.
Farewell, friends! I hear the call.
The ship's beside the stony wall.
Foam is white and waves are grey;
beyond the sunset leads my way.
Foam is salt, the wind is free;
I hear the rising of the Sea.

Farewell, friends! The sails are set,
the wind is east, the moorings fret.
Shadows long before me lie,
beneath the ever-bending sky,
but islands lie behind the Sun
that I shall raise ere all is done;
lands there are to west of West,
where night is quiet and sleep is rest.

Guided by the Lonely Star,
beyond the utmost harbour-bar,
I'll find the heavens fair and free,
and beaches of the Starlit Sea.
Ship, my ship! I seek the West,
and fields and mountains ever blest.
Farewell to Middle-earth at last.
I see the Star above my mast!

HEYYY gkgyver! Nice to see on here :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Your work is absolutely amazing. It has such atmosphere, and very worthy of these films Cool

*bows deeply* You are an amazing talent and thank you for sharing!

Edit: OMG! I just realized you incorporated that Dwarrowdelf theme in your first piece. There are some fan compositions that go on my playlist because they fit right in alongside Howard Shore's work and the "look" of PJ's films, and this is one of them.

Also, some pieces of Shore's music remind me of Christmas, I don't know why. Maybe because the vocals have an angelic quality to them, and they get released around Christmastime. Bilbo's Song is one of them, and I absolutely love your composition Heart

Sorry [In reply to] Can't Post

I overlooked the Fan Art section.
Nice songs, even though I prefer a more fully orchestral approach ;)

Certainly [In reply to] Can't Post

I personally feel while the music I linked to fits Tolkien's Middle-earth in general, your music fits alongside PJ's visuals and Howard Shore's music. And I do prefer orchestral music as well Smile

OMG! Erebor theme+Dwarrowdelf! [In reply to] Can't Post

I loved it! Tears filled my eyes that i almost couldn't see my mobile's screen!

but why, i must ask, WHY didn't you finish the music with the full conclusion seen in FOTR? The theme when Sam says something about "grandeur and no mistake". I must humbly now beg that you complete this theme adding it. Please. That would connect both trilogies in a way unprecedented and i'm sure somehow in a way many expected Howard would do but didn't!

It would be a tear-jerker music, if i must say!

Thank you very much!

Edit: Omg, i've just cried like i hadn't in such a long time. Your Bilbo Song is moving, touching. It is so sad. A cherry on top of the ice cream! Thanks again (for making me happily sad)!

Just so you know how hard it hit me: my dad died some 2 years ago and i was sad but no tears came. But now i've just cried the way i wish i had when that happened. I guess it's just me being silly.

I can understand where you're coming from... the LOTR music had a similar effect on me when I went through a difficult situation like yours. It feels very elevated yet effecting, heartbreaking yet soothing.

We all find ways of coping, and I hope you're in a better place now. I don't find your experience silly at all Heart
