FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING 60th Anniversary Haiku Challenge!!! Can't Post

In honour of The Fellowship of the Ring's 60th Anniversary, this haiku challenge is for a creation with a FotR theme. Don't be afraid... these really are fun and very addictive :)

What is HAIKU?
Originating in Japan, poets started writing traditional English haiku in the 1950's composed of 3 lines of 5-7-5 syllables. The last words in each line do not need to rhyme. Check out the example below.

So it begins
(by gramma 7/29/14)

Road goes ever on ...... (5 syllables)
Down from the door, it began ...... (7 syllables)
Finding Fellowship ...... (5 syllables)

Sam, Dear Sam
(by gramma 7/29/14)

Dragons, trees and elves
makes me wonder what may be
down ol' Bilbo's roads

But taters and herbs
are the business of Gamgees,
my ol' gaffer says

Charge of the Light Brigade? [In reply to] Can't Post

To Mordor they came
The wrath of the Dunedain
By horse and on foot

With a will of steel
Distracting all, securing
Return of the king

A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.

A Haiku challenge?
Now how many syllables?
Goodness this is hard!

(That was just awful.
I’m not very good at these.
I think I will pass.)
