Recently I've been enjoying the 90's show Animaniacs. I think it's really well done and the warner siblings are awesome and hilarious. I was wondering if there was anyone else on here who also likes it? I found out that the movie special, Wakko's Wish is coming to dvd this October. I want to see that. I love the theme song: It's time for Animaniacs! And we're zany to the max! So just sit back and relax, You'll laugh 'til you collapse, We're animan-iacs! Come join the warner brothers, And the Warner sister, Dot! Just for fun we run around the Warner movie lot! They lock us in the tower, Whenever we get caught, But we break loose and then vamoose, and now you know the plot! We're animaniacs! Dot is cute and Yakko yaks! Wakko packs away the snacks, While Bill Clinton plays the sax, We're Animaniacs! Meet Pinky and the Brain who want to rule the universe, Good Feathers flock together, Slappy whacks 'em with her purse, Buttons chases Mindy while Rita sings a verse, The writers flipped we have no script why bother to rehearse! We're animaniacs! We have pay or play contracts! We're zany to the max, There's baloney in our snacks, We're animany! Totally insaney! Here's the shows name-y... (changes from time to time] Animaniacs! Those are the facts!

Often the "Pinky and the Brain" segments were the funniest parts of the show!

I used to watch with my sister's kids. I think I enjoyed it as much as they did, if not more. I even have a Dot doll I loved Pinky and the Brain, Aunt Slappy, The Goodfeathers, and Buttons and Mindy. My sister's kids and I still say good-bye by saying, "Okay, lady. Love ya, b-bye!" Histeria, which was produced by the same people, was also great.

I loved that show. My favorite was Yakko, and some of my favorite parts were his musical numbers. Pinky and the Brain were consistently funny, which is why they got a spinoff. Goodfeathers had it's moments too, but I actually think that was more for the adults, because to fully appreciate it you have to be familiar with Martin Scorsese movies (with a nod or two to The Godfather as well). The 90's were a golden age of animation in general. Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Batman, Gargoyles and some of the best seasons of The Simpsons.

I liked the Animaniacs, but Pinky & The Brain was always my favorite. Did anyone watch Freakazoid? IIRC, it was on around the same time.

Pinky and the Brain; Pinky and the Brain. One is a genius The other's insane. Two laboratory mice; Their genes have been spliced. They're dinky, They're Pinky and the Brain. Before the night is done Their plan will be unfurled; By the dawning of the Sun They'll take over the world! Pinky and the Brain; Pinky and the Brain. Their twilight campaign Is easy to explain; To prove their mousy worth, They'll overthrow the Earth; They're dinky, They're Pinky and the Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain -- Narf!

...West Side Story. It was a musical episode in which the pigeons sing songs with lyrics such as (from memory): "I want to sit on Scor-SE-SE'S HEAD" (I want to live in Am-er-ic-a....) [referring to a statue of Scorsese, upon which head every pigeon wants to perch] and "I just met a bird named CARLUTA-a-a-a!" (I just met a girl named Maria...) Pure gold! Thanks for bringing up these laugh-memories!

...where, I think, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are running through a bunch of rooms (maybe they're being chased?) and they run through a room with two geeks/nerds sitting in it that are picking apart all the goofs in Star Wars movies. I wish I could figure out which episode that was. My kids watched these cartoons so I was the mom listening/watching as she did her stuff around them. We had an Animaniacs tape of songs, at one point. My favorite was Pinky and the Brain and I have a Brain pin around here someplace.

I never really sat down and watched it with them, but I absorbed bits and pieces by osmosis. "The same thing we do every day, Pinky. Try to take over the world." I was the breadwinner, and my husband was home with them, and I think he used to watch it too.
