Chill. [In reply to] Can't Post

This is obviously a set inspired by the Dwarves vs. Smaug fight in DoS, imho.

And the molden gold... and the forges... [In reply to] Can't Post

LEGO does incorporate several scenes in one set from time to time.

Or does things that do not 100% resemble a scene from the movie at all.

In a specific Bot5A set we would surely see Bard, Thranduil, Gandalf and others involved, I am sure (or at least some of them). And it would rather feature the ruins of Dale, not the interior of Erebor.

And yes, it is Balin and Thorin. Not Azog.

I guess that refers to it being released with or in the lead-up to Bot5A - the movie. [In reply to] Can't Post

Smile

I also did not want to jump on you... just feared this might rekindle the biggest fear of some regarding this last movie ;)

...the approval of the lego motifs was done when the Hobbit was still a two-film enterprise. So that a moment from Film 2 ended up being used for Film 3, because they used to be one film anyway.

No Kili [In reply to] Can't Post

It's Thorin. From the article on TORn's homepage:

Quote
As well as Smaug, it contains five minifigures — Bilbo, Dwalin, Balin, Thorin and Fili — but no new characters. Every character has new torso printing, and Bilbo has his mithril shirt.

I do believe TORn is wrong on that one. [In reply to] Can't Post

Thorin and Kíli are very alike, though, so I can easily see why one would mistake the two... but looking at the larger resolution picture, and comparing it with previous figures, leaves no doubt in my mind that it is Kíli.

It's the Erebor LEGO set [In reply to] Can't Post

It's not the Battle of Five Armies, it's the Smaug attack in Erebor. The Facebook page for TORn stated this as well. So calm yourself, friend. Tongue

Thorin has the facial hair and Kili doesn't, so that's Thorin.

Hey now, don't diss Lego [In reply to] Can't Post

Especially their LOTR/Hobbit sets. They've done a fantastic job on them. You don't have to play with them, since I build and collect them (only the LOTR/Hobbit ones, mind). They haven't even fully revealed it yet, it was "leaked" by a Lego fan site, but they said it's the Erebor chase set, nothing that involves the battle itself. This doesn't mean Lego got anything wrong.

No, it's Kili [In reply to] Can't Post

Kili has stubble while Thorin has a full on beard. Also, Kili wears that shoulder-to-waist belt that the Lego figure also has.

And their films are fantastic too [In reply to] Can't Post

The only sad thing is when we get so news-desperate we have to depend on Lego and calender companies to get a wee bit of solaceCrazy. Like last year when the first Thorin/Bilbo pic was off a German game box, and then it was book covers and calenders.
