I SEE BLOOD ON GLAMDRING! [In reply to] Can't Post

Could it be that we'll finally get "real" blood in this movie?

Really love the tone this picture sets. [In reply to] Can't Post

Even for what it is, I get a very dire feel to the mise-en-scene. Very similar to a screencap from LOTR, for what that is worth.

Love the grittiness here [In reply to] Can't Post

Much like Azanulbizar but with obviously a more tangible (and practical) set.

I really do have faith in ya PJ! Please pull off a fantasy battle as legendary as it's name allows!

I do hope that we get tons of Gandalf fighting. I've already loved how Gandalf has been fighting much more than in LOTR and would love to see him zap some orcs around.

Really? Alright...

Well, proud to be one I guess.

Thinking about Gandalf in action makes me terribly giddy.Laugh

Sir Ian McKellen's representation of Mithrandir during sequences of combat is just . . .
well . . . it's just perfect.

When he's wielding . . . and grunting . . . and whacking . . . and exclaiming . . .Crazy

*Stands up and claps vigorously*

I am so looking forward to witnessing more of The Grey Wizard's
intensely marvellous battlefield exploits.Smile

High-res splendidness [In reply to] Can't Post

It is a top-notch photo and a captivating still.

Thumbs up to the studio(s) for releasing this at the time they did.

While the image has managed to stimulate my imagination,
it is but a sip when I am in dire need of a gulp.

Nonetheless, this picture has got me thinking about the fighting
styles of our respective main characters and envisioning the valiant
displays of military leadership that is yet to come.

And, besides Gandalf, I think I'm looking forward to seeing how Bard
commands his troops and handles himself in battle, the most.

I feel like Bard is a scrappy, anxious, desperate and persistent kind of fighter.
The kind to tirelessly run back and forth between stations while frantically yelling
out commands.
The type to remember the value that every single one of his men possess.

He will likely be the representative and source of raw human emotion throughout
the entire battle. Instances of pure determination. Moments of unrestricted sympathy
and genuine doubt.

But absolutely no visible display of fear. Not once.

That's what I expect from the character during the five-army clash.

I think it's Dale [In reply to] Can't Post

Such Stony structures can't be found in Esgaroth.
And at the Erebor's Gate there are other, bigger structures.

Maybe the actual battle is more spread than in the book, so the individual characters can fight on different front lines.

To be some snow on the wall behind Gandalf. Just thought I'd point that out. Cool

Gosh, I just love this photo. [In reply to] Can't Post

And this high-def version is fantastic. I sincerely hope this gritty sort of realness is indicative of the finished film. Beginning the Hobbit trilogy with the bright colors and descending into this by BoFA's end would be absolutely amazing. The color palate alone would have its own story arc. Fingers crossed!

It's taken by a canon camera... [In reply to] Can't Post

..so this exact image won't be in the final film. The processed Red Epic images look much softer.

Yeah, I know it's (unfortunately) not an actual film image [In reply to] Can't Post

but I'm just hoping that (as I said) it's indicative of what we'll see on the screen in December.

Actually [In reply to] Can't Post

It's been taken by a Nikon D4 with an 70-200 F/2,8

But you're right. The RED image will be not as sharp as this one. Thankfully.

Superb [In reply to] Can't Post

Another picture with Gandalf!

Seeing this and the one with Thranduil I am now quite sure that neither of them is a flashback, because Gandalf looks very similar on both pics. He doesn't seem to be wearing a hat anymore, his hairstyle is very similar and the background is telling me this is Dale. I am sure we will see him with right weapons in the final movie, so I am not concerned about that but I just hope that they won't change colours much because those looks so realistic and great.
