we heard some rumours about Enya [In reply to] Can't Post

a few months ago, but then these were said to be unfounded.

I would love to have another male voice, for this earlier trilogy, as we had three female voices for LOTR. The Hobbit is an all male world, isn't it?

As far as I know, the soundtrack choices (and the ones about the songs and their interpreters/authors) are usually very late in the production, generally in the middle of Autumn. We have plenty to be looking forward before that.

And finally, yes, I would really love to see the sketches for BOFA's end credits and I am pretty sure we'll get them since the credits of ROTK were unbelievably beautifulHeart.

I, too, think it should end with this song... [In reply to] Can't Post

since the final scene has got to be set in Bag End - right? With Bilbo reaching for the tobacco jar, etc "Roads Go Ever On" is just perfect to illustrate that the story continues in the original trilogy...and I wouldn't mind Sting or Peter Gabriel, either! As much as I love Enya, and wouldn't be too disappointed if she got the job, I can't see it, personally, with her having done FotR - they wouldn't want the same artist "back-to-back", surely?

WOW [In reply to] Can't Post

that was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful Smile

I could easily see this working, though like others have said, I have a feeling PJ already knows what he wants to do for it Unsure

But this one instantly captures my attention as I immediately visualized Bilbo and Gandalf looking across the Desolation of Smaug and reflecting on what all has happened, with Bilbo's face possibly tear stained or at the least both of them being grim and serious and reflective (or possibly Bilbo finally sitting in his much missed armchair and lights his pipe then sits back, and this beginning as he says the last line of the trilogy- "Now that was an adventure to remember.", or something like that Smile

Its probably going to be a male vocal. [In reply to] Can't Post

As the two previous End Titles tracks were also sung by men.

Yes. [In reply to] Can't Post

That is one reason why I immediately thought of Sting.

I'm still holding out for [In reply to] Can't Post

Lorde. We need another Kiwi singer in the mix!

PJ could go back to his daughter again for ideas just like he did for DoS!

I would love to see Loreena McKenitt perform [In reply to] Can't Post

I am not as keen as maintaining an all-male voice-cast for TH films as others and do not really see the need to maintain that much continuity.
And since I think Loreena Mckenitt's songs has one of the most Tolkienian feel I have ever heard, I would love to see her take up the reins.

Agreed. [In reply to] Can't Post

I can also not help myself to think that "Use well the days" is not too far from the feeling the song of Bot5A should capture.

Voice of McKenitt plus a song that captures a similar feeling and - in the best case - uses "The Road goes ever on" would be perfect.

"I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at." J.R.R. Tolkien

We all have our hearts and minds one way or another invested in these books and movies. So we all mind and should show the necessary respect.
