These are both fiction films based on Tolkien life and on Tolkien's and Lewis's friendship. I'm sort of hoping neither actually gets made.

Hahahaha, that amuses me to no end. I guess he wants to be taken more seriously as a director? I'll admit to liking Expendables 2. I've heard Tomb Raider was atrocious, though. I guess it will be an interesting experience. Does the Tolkien Estate have to give permission for these kinds of things?

I suppose Tolkien does figure in the film, though. I should watch it someday. (Actually, I liked OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET, but am not keen on the Narnia series.)
