During the commentaries, she's just brilliant! Especially when Fran and she start ganging up on Peter ;) Her passion for Tolkien's stories and her knowledge of them always has me shaking my head. She's really got a handle on the personalities of the characters and the sensitivities of the stories.
She really won me over the first time I listened to the director/writer commentaries for FotR. At the end of the very last scene as the music started, she very quietly claps and whispers, "Yayyyyyyy". It was so enchanting to hear at such an emotional moment for me. It was wonderful!
She's genuine, funny, passionate, loyal, lovely, and a very smart writer/director. Along with an equally Brilliant Fran Walsh, she's made these screenplays the incredible works of art that they are.
