Hi all, Hammond and Schull's magnificent annotation volume for Lord of the Rings has been re-released today in the UK. I have seen some limited suggestions that there has been there has been a re-edit and addition of materials, but can find no confirmation including on the publisher's website! Does anyone know if there has been changes and therefore it is worth a re-purchase?

has indeed been revised, with errors corrected and new material added. Since the new edition hasn't been reset, we could make additions only within the existing structure of pages, so not everything we include in our online addenda and corrigenda (http://www.hammondandscull.com/addenda.html), but a lot of it. 191 pages have been emended. This supersedes the HarperCollins trade paperback edition of 2008, which in turn replaced the original 2005 hardback and paperback. The new edition returns the HarperCollins issue to hardback (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt continue to sell the 2005 hardback only). Wayne & Christina
