Extended Edition is PG-13 (same as theatrical edition)

The MPAA has given The Desolation of Smaug Extended Edition a PG-13 rating 'Rated PG-13 for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence, and frightening images.' It's the same rating as the theatrical version, so this isn't really news. But last year the An Unexpected Journey EE had an extra "fleeting nudity" in its description due to the bathing scene. Unfortunately it looks like there's no dwarf nudity this time round

Well good. I was a little concerned about the fleeting nudity last time. I never saw it as necessary. Glad it's not in this one.

It's not consistent with the AUJ EE title!

I don't think they've renamed the EE or anything. I'm just saying the site should take more care with these things!

All this talk of "fleeting nudity" and "extended cuts" is giving me the vapours.

The dwarves got their nude bathing scene. I don't think it's right to make poor Evangeline feel left out...

Maybe there will be a scene with Tauriel and Kili bathing together. It would be a nice callback to that scene with Aragorn and Arwen in the Glittering Caves that I think was in one of the earliest drafts of the two part LotR script.

The dwarves got their nude bathing scene. I don't think it's right to make poor Evangeline feel left out... If this were an 80s or 90s anime, Tauriel would almost certainly have gotten a nude shower scene (possibly under a waterfall)!

I may have seen that image before. It's probably the scene where Gandalf introduces Bilbo to Beorn. It appears that Mr. Baggins has suddenly become a shy little hobbit. Or he's simply intimidated by the skin-changer. BTW, your post would make for an excellent thread.

but not seen the actual footage before, I believe. I have seen RA's interview (it's from the interview with EL and LE about what they hope to see in the EE that was posted not long after DoS was released ) Thanks for these clips - plenty to whet the appetite!
