So anyone read the new Empire feature? Yeah I think we ALL know that Viggo was a last minute replacement for Townsend but I also just realised that the year ROTK won Best Picture was the same year Charlize Theron won Best Actress. She was dating Stuart Townsend at the time and they were both seated in the front row. Imagine how hilariously awkward it would have been for Townsend, watching the LOTR crew collect their oscars, and then PJ himself getting Best Director. Hahaha poor Townsend!
