A Riddle for BlackFox or someone else... Can't Post

Two stood out from all the rest,
A height ‘midst desecration.
Too stood the true upon the crest
Of loss or celebration.

I'm guessing it's Tolkien related? [In reply to] Can't Post

If so, I guess the two slag heaps that the army of Gondor/Rohan stood on outside the Morannon (Black Gate)?

Call me Rem, and remember, not all who ramble are lost...Uh...where was I?

Right on Rem... Nice try Elanor [In reply to] Can't Post

Two stood out from all the rest,
A height ‘midst desecration.
Too stood the true upon the crest
Of loss or celebration.

There were apparently many "slag hills", but the "two" where the Last Army of the West (the true) made their last stand were somewhat larger than the others.

Sam and Frodo?

Happiness: money matters, but less than we think and not in the way that we think. Family is important and so are friends, while envy is toxic -- and so is excessive thinking. Beaches are optional.
