It's bizarre that they had a special giftset for the standard edition. Makes me wonder what the specialgift set will be for the extended edition.

It would have been great to get book-holders with one of the EE sets... the dwarven statues simply worked greatly as an analogy to the Argonath with the LotR sets. But I will refuse to pay that money for a TE gift-set. I am willing to follow the TE - EE logic and the double release. But not this. In comparison to New Line the way the releases are handled by WB is abysmal (and this beyond the greed argument).
“All good stories deserve embellishment." Praise is subjective. And so is criticism. "I am afraid it is only too likely to be true what you say about the critics and the public. I am dreading the publication for it will be impossible not to mind what is said. I have exposed my heart to be shot at."

mostly because DoS is fun to rewatch. Also the one at Target came with a lego set. And the two new bonus features are totally great.

It's significantly cheaper than getting it from Amazon.de, even taking shipping into account. With the current exchange rate, it's around 60% of the German price. OK, so it'll take around a month to get here, but I can live with that as we have several DVD players in the house, only one of which is Blu-ray so we'll get by with the standard DVD edition for now!
