Middle-earth is coming to Canada this Spring, April 24-27, and staff from TheOneRing.net will be there to join in the fun! Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo will be taking place at the BMO Center in Calgary's Stampede Park; you can find out full details at their website.

There are several guests from both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies who will be attending, and of particular interest to Middle-earth fans is a very special event which will be held on the evening of April 25th: 'Middle-earth EXPOsed'. From the organiser's press release:

'The Calgary Comic & Entertainment expo is pleased to announce an one-of-a-kind fantasy special event, Middle-earth EXPOsed, featuring appearances from Sean Astin, Manu Bennett, Billy Boyd, and others, to take place on the Friday evening of Calgary Expo, at 8:00pm on April 25, 2014. The evening will include a live special effects presentation from Oscar Award-winning special effects magic-makers, Weta Workshop, led by CEO Richard Taylor, and feature appearances from eight actors from the Tolkien films. Guests can expect interviews, comedy, improv, stories, music and more - one night only - in the Corral on the Calgary Stampede grounds.

The event will feature:

ο‚· Weta Co-Founder/Co-Owner and Creative Director Richard Taylor

ο‚· Hosted by Craig Parker ("Haldir the Elf", The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Mark Ferguson ("Gil-Galad", The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring)

ο‚· Joined by The Hobbit Trilogy's Jed Brophy ("Nori"), Dean O'Gorman ("Fili"), and Mark Hadlow ("Dori")

ο‚· Special appearances from Billy Boyd ("Pippin", The Lord of the Rings trilogy), Sean Astin ("Sam", The Lord of the Rings trilogy), and Manu Bennett ("Azog", The Hobbit series, Spartacus)

"Tolkien's world of Middle-earth has done so much to re-awaken imagination in young and old alike", states Event Director, Kandrix Foong. β€œWeta has done an amazing job of bringing Tolkien's vision to life, and we're so excited to see some of that magic live and in person at this event."

This will be a night to remember! Tickets for this exciting event are sold separately from Calgary Expo tickets or passes, and will go on sale 10:00 a.m. MST on Saturday, March 22, 2014 via Ticketmaster. Prices will range from $35 to $90 (Canadian dollars) plus Ticketmaster fees. You can order tickets - from tomorrow - here.

TORn will be at the event, and will also have a booth at the EXPO, so we look forward to meeting with fellow fans. As soon as we have more details about where we'll be, we'll let you know! Hope to see you in Canada!
