a DOS hero [In reply to] Can't Post

Who can forget one of the most appreciated scenes in DOS that had the audiences I was with laughing their snacks up - and at the end when Bombur whirls like a food processor blade cutting through orcs - genius, genius to use Bombur like that. I was so happy to see this unlikely hero. And the AUJ goblin scene cracks me up when he just bounces a goblin off his gut. Bombur may like his food (nothing wrong with that IMO) but he's an awesome fighter and there's real muscle there - hauling that chain in the forges and making those bellows sing. I wish for 2 things: Bombur gets a line or two and WE GET THE MISSING FOOTAGE in the EE - like:

which was a scene I was really looking forward to, and

because to me this just shows the bonding between Bofur and Bombur. I was looking forward to this too.
Bombur is just another of the awesome, perfectly cast dwarves and Stephen Hunter has done an incredible job with him as did WETA.

Isn't Bombur awesome?! [In reply to] Can't Post

He can steal a scene without saying a single word. Talk about talent! I sure hope the EE reinstates the scene where he falls in the river.

"And we find what we're made of
Through the open door
Is it fear you're afraid of?
What are you waiting for?
Love alone is worth the fight."

Bombur is awesome definitely [In reply to] Can't Post

That amazing scene w. the egg at Bag End. Like ravens, the idea of a body of water or stream causing forgetfulness is another favorite mythology motif of mine, and as far as my fuzzy memory serves the scene where Bombur gets carried is canon, so I was real disappointed that this didn't make the cut (of course it's lovely that Thorin leaves no one behind but LOL it's good to be king, he's not the one doing the carrying - still, dwarves are supposed to be strongAngelic).

LOL from the Appendices where SH says at the end of day, he takes up twice as much room on screen as anybody else - seems like a great guy and his audition is really enjoyable.

What was the name of his other movie? [In reply to] Can't Post

"Run, Fatboy, Run"? He's pretty quick on his feet for a big guy.

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and His wonders in the deep.

It Amazing! that we are ALL

IF EVER HE does, this "Bomby guy"
in the
Audience will be rolling the Movie

Ashamed to
Admit it.

He Always seems to be LANDing
on Top of the Other Dwarves?

First time at Bilbo's Famous Round Door.
Then When they Crash into Goblintown,
& Then Finally
Smacks Full speed... into Beorn's Door!

The Fact that he Out-Runs all the other Dwarves?

Good Food & a
Good time!

He is the Man!

Bombur barrel rider [In reply to] Can't Post

Hands down my favorite Bombur moment. After my first viewing, I looked forward to hearing the audience reaction when I knew this scene was coming up. Always got a lot of laughs! Cool

sure! [In reply to] Can't Post

He has got one of the few scenes written (in the book) specifically with dialogue for a Dwarf. I can imagine Martin Freeman's face trying to talk him out of his watch turn Wink
Really looking forward to it!

Hopefully they will insert the river scene in the EE, and remember that, when Bombur awakes he complains that he wants to go back on dreaming all that gorgeous food he was eating during his slumber. Wouldn't it be hilarious??Wink

He's legendary [In reply to] Can't Post

The moment the first trailer for DoS was released I was utterly perplexed as to why Bombur's barrel could be briefly glimpsed airbourne. Prior to seeing the film, I kept reading all these tweets Stephen Hunter had been retweeting about Bombur being "badass" and a complete "scene stealer" so I was really intrigued. When the scene finally happened on screen I found myself laughing, alongside most of the audience as Bombur is thrown though the air into the path of the orcs accidently killing many of them. But then he finally gets to shine when he comes to a stop and takes on the Hunter Orcs using stolen weapons and makeshift armour. It's a scene that wouldn't work with any other character but Bombur, the bumbling comic relief reveling himself to be a bad ass. Cool

Plus the moment where he out runs the rest of the dwarves is brilliant too.

Yes, my username is terrible.

I recognise that image [In reply to] Can't Post

It's in the AUJ EE Appendices when RA is talking more or less about having something of his own re Thorin's face and growing his own beard - can't remember the Appendices number but it's the one with the dwarf casting - the section where they talk about the dwarf makeup and yak hair etc. Graham McTavish is talking about not liking stick-on hair and that Thorin, Fili and Kili got to have their own beards. I know because I paused the DVD at that image just to stare at the glory of it all, LOL

A "Bombur Spin" is Deadly...in Goblintown [In reply to] Can't Post

he carries about six Goblins
to their Deaths by USING
his weight & Spins them...

Crashing through 2 walkways.

Another Brillant Bombur Moment.

WE need to make sure that he
knows we love him, cause
He always seems
be sitting in the Background while the Hot Dwarves
get the Spotlight.

People in my theater loved it too [In reply to] Can't Post

I saw DOS 2x and there were all adults in the audience the first time then mostly kids under 12yrs old the second time. Bombur's barrel moment still got the same amount of hysterical laughter both times!
