When they were little girls, my Mum's younger sister was a real trickster. She tricked my Mum into eating a slug in lettuce in a sandwich. She also fooled her into eating 'currants'. They weren't.

Well, the French eat snails, after all Such a salad might not be a good vegetarian option though
Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!

I take it that sheep had passed by not long before.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. (*blech*) They do look like that! I don't have many 'trickery' stories per se, but my Dad did accidentally put an arrow into my uncle's head at age 7. They kept it secret for 30 years. My grandmother thwapped them both soundly when she finally found out.
Have an idea relating to the world of JRR Tolkien that you would like to write about? If so, the Third TORn Amateur Symposium will be running in the Reading Room in April, 2014. We hope to see you there!

I always think of schistosomiasis. I don't care if they are cooked or whatever...blech. So another pub specialty we will have to avoid!
