Radagast's staff in TABA Can't Post

So I remember reading a while ago an interview of Sylvester McCoy confirming that Radagast's staff from the hobbit is Gandalf's staff from Fellowship of the ring. Apparently it was removed by WB immediately due to huge spoiler alerts for the next films.

Follow the first link to find a picture of Gandalf's first staff from LOTR

On this link you will see Radagast's staff. Look at the third picture along.

http://www.wetanz.com/...-radagast-the-brown/

Having seen both you will notice the same symbol appears on them. The only difference is that on Radagast's staff the bits of wood at the top are longer (maybe Gandalf trimmed them off) and that he has a removable blue crystal.

My question is: why does Gandalf end up with Radagast's staff. We now know that Gandalf's staff is destroyed by Sauron in DOS. Can anyone think of an appropriate plot line that might meant this occurs? I have thought that they might kill off Radagast but on the other hand this would be too much, they can't kill of a Maiar spirit for no good reason, it would have to be an epic showdown for it to be believable.

Anyone have any ideas on what this might mean? Perhaps the death of Radagast but if not, what else?

dunno [In reply to] Can't Post

i can tel you this fro certain, no mortal man knows the answer to this yet, ok maybe someone on the crew does, but rest assured we wont know untill the film is released.

my only input is that when wizards lose there place on the council, a la saruman in lotr, they lose their staff (ceremonial?) other than radagast dying ( i dont think this will happen) it could mean he renounces his duties to middle earth and goes off on an adventure of his own.

This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking-party.

Gandalf will say... [In reply to] Can't Post

..."Raddie give me your staff", or Raddie will say Gandalf "take my staff" or throw it to Galdalf as he is released, or Galadriel will say "Raddie give Gandalf your staff", as she releases him. They are my four options

Well, Gandalf... [In reply to] Can't Post

Has an entirely different staff at the beginning of FotR. Saruman takes his staff during their little magic rumble and Gandalf has a new one (Radagast's) after he escapes from Isengard. So I have no clue how they're explaining this.

"This day we FIGHT!"

Gandalf's staff [In reply to] Can't Post

Gandalf picked his new staff up in Rivendell. Perhaps Radagast will die and (like Narsil) his staff will be taken and held in Rivendell as a monument. That way, when Gandalf appears in Rivendell by eagle, there's a weapon waiting for him.

Not to mention, Gandalf's staff in AUJ/DOS has the White Staff inside it. [In reply to] Can't Post
