What I'm wondering/hoping [In reply to] Can't Post

is that maybe it wasn't so much a set-up for Legolas to kill Bolg, but the tie-in to get Legolas involved in the Battle of the 5 Armies. If he keeps hunting down Bolg, he will physically end up in the battle at some point. Let's hope that's what happens.

The elves have plenty of stake in the war - and Thranduil would like to see his precious gems "returned" to him. There's no problem tying Legolas to the war. None what so ever. Legolas however would never be any kind of commander, so I don't really see any other options for him than just be on the front line going after the opponents hero characters, so to speak.

Pretty sad actually - because there is no way they are going to push him into the background now. Don't see why he should be the one to hog other people's glory in their own friggin story. :-----------------C
