Dwarrowdelf Theme? Can't Post

Saw this over at imdb forums (which are pretty much a wreck). Why has Shore not returned to the Dwarrowdelf theme from fellowship of this ring? perhaps in TABA? It's not only one of my favorite pieces but it also seems very relevant w/ Balin's fate and a few other story threads...

Because they're not in Moria? [In reply to] Can't Post

It would make sense to use the Dwarrowdelf theme if the Company visited Moria, but they don't. However, Thorin's theme, the Erebor theme, and the Dwarrowdelf theme are all related. The Dwarrowdelf theme is akin to a fuller, grander vision of the themes of Erebor and Thorin. This suggests that Moria at its height must have been even more spectacular than was Erebor. I really appreciate the care that Shore took in creating Thorin's and the Erebor theme from elements of what we've heard before; I love the interconnectedness between the movies, and what the music tells us if we just stop and pay attention to it.

I thought I could hear it used somewhere in DOS, [In reply to] Can't Post

in a similar way a small reference to it was used in AUJ when Gandalf hands the key to Thorin in Bag End, but I could be totally mistaken! Will try to pay attention on my second viewing tomorrow.

I can imagine a reference to it be used later on, yes, although I'd only a prefer a subtle reference really, not the fully realized theme, because it is indeed so monumental and beautiful that the worst that could happen would be if they overused it (not saying that's what you suggest, just thinking aloud).

Sadly, my special edition soundtrack won't arrive until January, and I'm not fond of Spotify and streaming services, so I will have to wait before I can explore the DOS music.
