The Master: what he actually looked like during better times for Lake-town or just exaggeration? Wink

I imagine it's an exaggeration... [In reply to] Can't Post

He's probably the Kim Jong Il of Lake-Town, and has a very high opinion of himself.

Bet he'd love to use some of the gold from Erebor to erect a statue of himself in the lake.

That is a great prop though! I wonder if they gave it to Stephen when he wrapped... That would be an awesome present.

There's a fold out of it in the next Hobbit Chronicles book [In reply to] Can't Post

... according to the prerelease info anyhow:

"As a bonus feature, unique to this book, there is a special fold-out replica of the portrait of the Master of Lake-town, played by Stephen Fry, exactly as it appears in the film."

Amazon has it here: http://www.amazon.com/Hobbit-Desolation-Smaug-Chronicles-Design/dp/0062265695/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1386279039&sr=1-1&keywords=the+hobbit+chronicles

or you can preorder signed copies direct from Weta: http://www.wetanz.com/chronicles-art-and-design-dos/

Sorry I don't know how to make those links clickable. Unimpressed

Excellent picture. [In reply to] Can't Post

Nothing like a little self aggrandizement straight from the Master of Laketown himself.

Watch out, Orlando Bloom. Sexy has a new name!

Actually…. [In reply to] Can't Post

...I assumed he used to look like that and just became too corrupt in his years as Master. The richer he got, the more he loved money and the less he cared about his appearance. It was his money that gave him his status after all.
