the white council vs the order of the pheonix Can't Post

Two councils consisting of magical folk......... The mythological and the modern

"And do you really think, Thorin Oakenshield, that Bolg will have the slightest symphony for you? After he watched you hack his fathers hand off, so ruthlessly in Moria. Azogs defeat has brought nothing to you, only refuelled hate of his kin, upon yours"

White Council, definitely. [In reply to] Can't Post

I just can't see any group composed of Gandalf, Saruman, Elrond, Galadriel and (maybe) Radagast and Glorfindel having any problem with ol' Moldyshorts.

"I had forgotten that. It is hard to be sure of anything among so many marvels. The world is all grown strange. Elf and Dwarf in company walk in our daily fields; and folk speak with the Lady of the Wood and yet live; and the Sword comes back to war that was broken in the long ages ere the fathers of our fathers rode into the Mark! How shall a man judge what to do in such times?"

"As he ever has judged. Good and ill have not changed since yesteryear; nor are they one thing among Elves and Dwarves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house."

It would have to be [In reply to] Can't Post

The White Council. It's made up of wizards and elves, who will willingly face the most evil being in Middle-Earth. If they can face Sauron/Necromancer, they can definitely take on Voldy and his Death Eaters. They'd be a piece of cake next to the crimes Sauron's committed.

Wasn't it Cirdan? [In reply to] Can't Post

Wasn't it Cirdan that may have been part of the White Council?

Oops, forgot Cirdan. [In reply to] Can't Post

Radagast and Glorfindel are just my speculation. Others have speculated Celeborn and Thranduil also. As a former Ringbearer, Cirdan would definitely be in the running for a potential White Council member, more so than the rest save maybe Radagast.

The White Council [In reply to] Can't Post

any of the White Council members could probably take on Voldemort even without the rest of the council present.

IDK about that [In reply to] Can't Post

The Wizards, yes. Galardriel, probably. Voldemort could just Avada Kedavra the other Elves before they get close though

But would Avada Kedavra actually work on elves? [In reply to] Can't Post

That's something I've often wondered. It's very effective for killing humans, yes, but while elves can also die in battle their death is still different from that of men. That makes me wonder how Avada Kedavra would actually affect them, or if it would at all.
