Lord of the Ring themed Haikus anyone? Can't Post

Ok, so I was in Barliman's one day, and the subject of Haikus came up, with us creating and sharing Tolkien themed Haikus with each other. It was fun to do, Haikus are fun to make, and that made me want to share the fun with the Forum. So here are a few I made-

The Creation of Middle Earth-
Softly a song starts
Other voices add to it
One doesn't sound right.

Bill the Pony-
Alone, Abandoned
All his friends left him to flee
he must find his home

Boromir-
Just a steward's son
Strong in some ways weak in one
Redeemed in the end.

When Frodo offered Glandriel the ring-
In the Halfling's hand
The Ring sings its siren call
She doesn't listen

So, anyone want to join in and create their own? The rules are simple, You get five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the last.

Just a steward's son
Strong in some ways weak in one
Redeemed in the end.
On another note, wonder what obscure holiday it is today? No? Of course you do! That is why I have created This nifty little calender" to tell you! Enjoy. I take suggestions if I missed your favorite holiday.

Alrighty then... [In reply to] Can't Post

Mordor joolery:
Which hobbit wore it better –
Bilbo or Frodo?

Beware Elven girls
Dancing on grass through the trees:
Your heart will be lost.

Double-braided beards
Advertise Dwarves’ intentions:
Single and looking!

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Hmmmm.... [In reply to] Can't Post

A Haiku challenge?
Now how many syllables?
Goodness this is hard!

Purists say the film
Is not as good as the book,
But really, what is?

That was just awful.
I’m not very good at these.
I think I will pass.

******************************************
That hobbit has a pleasant face,
His private life is a disgrace.
I really could not tell to you,
The awful things that hobbits do.
Things that your paper never prints
They only speak of them in hints.
They have such lost, degraded souls,
No wonder they inhabit holes;
When such depravity is found,
It only can live underground.

Hmmm. how 'bout some more? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hobbits in general-
Food, friendship, comfort
All Valued by the Halflings
Simpleness is best

Gollum-
Alone in the dark,
Years and years spent in torment
And then a visit.

Desolation of Smaug-
Fire, Fear, and death.
A flaming dragon flies
The dwarves lost their home.

Watcher in the water-
It's dark and lonely
Countless years were spent bored
But then, victims come.

All of Tolkiens works in Haiku form-
Beware the shiny
They are there to steal your heart.
You must just say no.

Erm.... And i am not quite happen with the last poem in the first post, so I will revise it here.

In the Halfling's hand
The Ring sings its siren call
She passes the test.

Just a steward's son
Strong in some ways weak in one
Redeemed in the end.

On another note, wonder what obscure holiday it is today? No? Of course you do! That is why I have created This nifty little calender" to tell you! Enjoy. I take suggestions if I missed your favorite holiday.

Thanks! [In reply to] Can't Post

The footer seemed appropriate for a spooky Hobbiton Halloween.

It's grown as far as it's going to.

It's by an anonymous poet, though I've made certain changes.

You may remember a snippet quoted in an Agatha Christie story.

I'll ride one to school

Where's Fatty Bolger?
Has he eaten all our cakes?
I guess he needs them

Fun! [In reply to] Can't Post

A hole in the ground
In the midst of light darkness
The opposite of stars

He is a wizard
But in interesting ways
He is an old man

A halfling you see
Just half the height of a man
But not half the heart

The return of the King
Which the sleeping prince heard tell
Is foreseen by few

What is Middle-earth
It is as we dreamed our world
Not as we recall it

Hmmm.... More perhaps? I could make these all day :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Bilbo climbs the trees
And sees butterflies and leaves
but not the way out

He rises again
After defeating his foe
To finish his quest.

She says she's no man
Alone, she challenges him
He fears his defeat.

Just a steward's son
Strong in some ways weak in one
Redeemed in the end.

We have the Master Ring

It must be destroyed!

Yes [In reply to] Can't Post

Gandalf and Witch King
Face off in Minas Tirith
Whose winter has come?

Witch King raises sword
Die now and wither old man
I hear horns calling!

The Rohirrim come
Now for rath, and the red dawn
Forth Eorlingas!

Fell beast kills Snowmane
Witch King strikes at Eowyn
Yet no man is she

Brought low by woman
And a merry Brandybuck
Witch King is no more
