AUJ SEE: actually 9 hours of bonus materials! Can't Post

Hello,

In the past, there was a fear that the promised 9 hours of bonus features included with the SEE edition were in fact 6 hours (plus 3 hours of audio commentary). However, thanks to BD information available on the Net, we now can see that the actual bonus features in fact are over 9 hours (around 9 h 16 minutes, to be exact) - not counting the commentary!

Yes... [In reply to] Can't Post

... but that showed up quite some weeks ago at least on the German pre-order site by Amazon.

With commentary 12.13 hours, without 9.10 hours. Smile

Words of wisdom that should be remembered - both by critics, purists and anyone in between.

Kind of... [In reply to] Can't Post

... however, the production people get much more and detailed screen time in the extras themselves now. And since the Appendecies follow the scenes much more closely and with more system now, I could see them having the feeling that the commentary might not be needed.

Definetly miss the character's commentary though.

You should try to listen to them! [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought commentaries was stupid not so long ago, but then one day I decided to give FotR a chance, choosing the director/writing commentary as I thought that one would be the most interesting one!
I haven't regretted it one second Smile
I really recommend it one day you have the energy and time!
They say a lot of stuff in the commentary that they don't say in the making ofs Shocked

Yes, the writers commentary was excellent... [In reply to] Can't Post

But am glad they put more emphasis in the other extras on the production team this time around (Taylor, Hannah, etc.). Works much better imho than their commentary which I found to be a lot of chit chat for long minutes until one interesting information came up.

The actors commentary was imho a bit better, but I also like their comments much better via longer featurettes such as on the EE we are getting nowm

The cast commentary [In reply to] Can't Post

in particular is one of the best commentaries I've ever listened to. The actors hadn't seen each other in about a year so it's like a reunion as well as being funny. You learn lots of stuff that wasn't in the docs like how Elijah Wood farted when they were running from Farmer Maggot and everyone landed on top of him.
