PJ hints about career after The Hobbit, drops a line about Smaug in DOS

An very interesting read. I'm really glad that he seems eager to tell these NZ stories and have a lot of fun doing it. To me, it was almost an acknowledgement that his career is no longer 'on the rise', and that he (and Fran) have a select number of years left to tell their stories. I wish them the best.

Also, the quick line about Smaug is interesting. Gandalf's line about 'who did you tell about your quest?' comes to mind. Wonder if there is a rat somewhere?
