Does anyone else want to see (spoilers) - Can't Post

- Bilbo and Co's visit to the Eagles' eyrie? I'd be disappointed if they missed that out.

I'm hoping we will see it in DOS, even if it's just in the Extended Edition.

Umm... [In reply to] Can't Post

SPOILER ALERT

But at the end of AUJ we are already past the point when they visit the eagle's eyrie...are you saying you want to see them go back to the eyrie in DOS? or a flashback?

As already said, it's unlikely now. But ... [In reply to] Can't Post

What I would like to see is this (the bolded bit):

Quote
And though the lord of eagles became in after days the king of all birds and wore a golden crown, and his fifteen chieftains golden collars (made of the gold that the dwarves gave them), Bilbo never saw them again - except high and far off in the battle of Five Armies. But as that comes in at the end of this tale we will say no more about it just now.

We will see the gold being shared between the Elves, Men and Dwarves, so I hope the Dwarves still give the Eagles gifts. That would make a splendid scene. Evil

We already saw it when Radagast took his hat off! [In reply to] Can't Post

Twigs and bird poop. Who'd want to see that again?

Since we seem to have bypassed - [In reply to] Can't Post

- the eyrie scene in AUJ:TE, I'm wondering if the Extended Edition of the first movie ends the same way or if they changed the ending somewhat.

It will bother me quite a bit if we don't see some version of the eyrie visit in the Hobbit movies, similar to the way the absence of the Barrow-Wights and the Fellowship's snow battle against the Wargs did during FOTR.

Gwaihir's eyrie would have been another opportunity to see more of another of the non-human races of Middle-Earth and a bit more character development couldn't hurt.

Also Bilbo and the Dwarves antics in the home of their giant feathered hosts could be fun - though Thorin's crew would probably be a bit more respectful than they were to the Elves.

The place for it is in the AUJ EE... [In reply to] Can't Post

...and if it isn't there, then I say leave it be.

However, I think it's a shame that they'd completely omit the Eagles's eyrie, while at the same time putting such a large focus on their own invented material.

Already passed... [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm fine with the amount of eagle help we got in the first place. I want to see Beorn.
