You're right... [In reply to] Can't Post

I just found it on Facebook. He said that Shore was "knocking it out of the park" with the new themes and elements.

Well, if Yuo examine the Words "Additional Orchestrator & Conductor" [In reply to] Can't Post

Enphasis on ADDTIONAL?

Sounds like PICK-UPs to Bomby.

Likely HS wrote more for Pick-ups
and Conrad followed his writing to the Tea!

With the Internet,
Howard could have been
listening to all of it, and adjusting things
in Canada.
Howard didn't NEED to fly to NZ
to be present for these last sessions.

Revisions this early? [In reply to] Can't Post

Unlikely I think. This is the full score recording block for the score I'm sure. Last year they were recording for the film up until late November, just before the film's release. I'm sure it will be the same for DoS given Jackson's tendency to be chopping and changing up until the last minute.

Is this the thread you were thinking of? [In reply to] Can't Post

http://newboards.theonering.net/forum/gforum/perl/gforum.cgi?do=post_reply_write;parent_post_id=650747

In it,, Doug explains about orchestration and also talks about HS's conducting technique and certainly implies that Howard was conducting at that point. Sorry I couldn't make the link clickable- either the computer is on the blink, or I am (probably the latter!)Crazy

Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!

Hopefully! [In reply to] Can't Post

The track-listing for AUJ was released very early november I think, so next couple of weeks we will know more, most likely. As they will probably announce that prior to the full soundtrack.

Conrad Pope asked about the presence of Howard Shore: [In reply to] Can't Post

http://www.jwfan.com/...ic=23304&page=18

"I tried to ask indirectly if Shore was present at the recording sessions, but it seems that Pope can not go into the details."

Quote
"Well, Antonio, I can't make any specific comments about this project- I'm forbidden to even mention its name! I can only comment about and celebrate the work my colleagues in the NZSO and I did together. It's the "making music together" and the "blast" we had doing it, as well as ( and perhaps most importantly) the bond we all forged as musicians, we're toasting here. Hope you understand. Best-CP-

One does wonder [In reply to] Can't Post

If Jackson and Shore had another falling out. Didn't they have a bit of a falling out during King Kong?

I still expect the music for the next two movies to be as amazing as ever. Shore will not let us down but I do get a sense that these two guys have issues now.

They're using a Taiko drum (Japanese). Have they used these before? I wonder where that will factor in?

Doug Adams: Almost there ... #Hobbit [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To
About him travelling there with Doug Adams recently, though I don't know the source for that (it certainly wasn't Doug's twitter page). But other than that I don't think there's any firm evidence to suggest that Shore went to New Zealand at any point in the recording process. That doesn't mean he did, but you'd have to think he'd be pictured in these photos of the recording sessions if he was conducting. Why get one with Jackson and Pope but not Shore?

what does that mean:
