Where in Middle-earth? Can't Post

If someone gave you a ticket to Middle-earth, what would be your first stop along the way? Of course, I would want to see it all eventually, but Minas Tirith would most certainly be where I would head first. I would love to stroll the many streets, see the gardens, take in the history and maybe catch a glimpse of a certain royal person...

Dol Amroth [In reply to] Can't Post

is one of the places I've always wanted to see more of. It's an ancient port town with ships and swans, Numenorean architecture, and knights, and it seems to be located in one of the more fertile and temperate regions of Middle Earth.

I voted Rivendell, but [In reply to] Can't Post

I was tempted by the Shire, because that glimpse of Woodhall has always fascinated me.

Lothlorien [In reply to] Can't Post

I love the idea of ship-like flets...funny considering I'm afraid of heights. LaughBlush But, more importantly, I would love to see the Mallorns.

Assuming arrival by ship... [In reply to] Can't Post

Either the Grey Havens or historic Dol Amroth.

I put Rivendell [In reply to] Can't Post

...because I would really, really like to see Elrond's library. In fact, I had to write a paper for my German class this week and the instructions gave us the option of writing about 'an unusual trip'. So I, um, creatively misinterpreted the instructions and wrote as if I were a Hobbit going to Rivendell with Gandalf. Laugh Angelic Tongue The teacher should understand, though.

However, if Rohan had been an option I would have been in quite a pickle! How to do you pick between books and horses? To quote Gollum, "That's not fair!

I'd roughly follow the books on my tour of ME [In reply to] Can't Post

Shire first, then I'd try to follow the Hobbit's journeys. I suppose that I'd follow the LOTR tour, with Bilbo's journeys east of the Misty Mountains squeezed in before I follow the fellowship's path south from rivendell.
