And I think I'll be giving them a miss.

Maybe they were terrible films in addition to being terrible adaptations. I dunno. I've just reached a point in my life where, if I'm going to bother with a film adaptation, I'm not interested in what the director thinks would have been a better idea if he'd written the book. However well executed it might be. Tongue

Which is why I also have no interest in the Hayao Miyazaki adaptation of "Howl's Moving Castle." It is, by all accounts, a terrific film...that bears very little resemblance to the book it is supposedly adapting.
